Kitchen Manager

Sundown Bar and Grill is looking for an experienced Kitchen Manager to supervise daily back of house restaurant operations. As the kitchen manager, you will be responsible for overseeing food preparation, ordering supplies, scheduling shifts, hiring and training employees, and monitoring inventory levels. To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have proven culinary and management experience. In addition to being an excellent communicator, you should also demonstrate outstanding leadership and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Order materials, supplies, and ingredients based on demands
  • Supervise kitchen employees and organize food orders
  • Oversee the food preparation and cooking process
  • Recruit and train kitchen employees in designated stations
  • Monitor inventory levels and perform weekly inventory assessments
  • Work with the restaurant owner to price and change menu items
  • Schedule works shifts for employees
  • Store all food products in compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Ensure the kitchen is clean and organized


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Restaurant Management or certification from culinary school required
  • A minimum 3 years experience in similar role
  • In depth knowledge of kitchen and health safety regulations
  • Must¬†maintain current successful menu along with new ideas
  • Ability to work well in a stressful and faced paced environment
  • Excellent problem solving and conflict management abilities
  • Outstanding communication and organization skills

This is a salary position (45 hours per week) along with the option of health insurance or a monthly bonus. One week paid vacation the first year and two weeks paid vacation after. Possible relocation allowance for the right candidate.
